Tai Chi

Are you looking for an hour of calm in your busy schedule.

Hope Lutheran Church offers two classes each week in the ancient Chinese practices of tai chi and qigong. The classes are on Tuesday evenings, 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons, 3-4 p.m. The classes are identical; students can choose whichever day suits their schedule.  The classes are held in person and on Zoom at the same time.  Proof of vaccination is required for those who wish to come in person.

Tai chi is often referred to as “mind/body exercise.” Its slow, gentle movements are suitable for people of all ages and abilities. It has been found beneficial for people with arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes and other conditions. The “mind” component of tai chi practice promotes calm and mental balance.

The fee for the class is $25/month, payable at the beginning of the month.  Students are welcome to attend one or both classes each week, in person or via Zoom.  They will also receive a link to a video from the previous week's class for review.

Instructor Pam Dodson of Wynantskill has been teaching for over ten years. Newcomers are welcome to the class anytime.

Please call Pam to register in advance at 518-701-4628.
